I like to explore tensions and contrasts in my work: how the organic and the mechanistic coexist, how visible and translucent surfaces hide or reveal what is inside. Glass is a perfect medium for this; you can view from inside as well as out with surfaces that reflect light, transmit it or stop it dead. Recent work integrates copper inclusions into glass, capitalising on the contrasts between materials.
I aim to make sculptural that appear touchable and malleable as well as having many of the beautiful characteristics of traditional glass sculpture.
