Penny Fleet BA Hons MA (RCA)

Painter & Textile Artist

Penny trained in Textile Design specialising in Woven Textiles, and has worked as a designer, freelancer and teacher. Inspired by her love of nature, flowers and light she creates colourful, lively art using paper, paint, fabric and stitch. Her paintings are creative and expressive using layers of decorative torn paper collage over which paint, inks and other materials are applied using a variety of tools to create texture and pattern. Using her paintings as colourful inspiration she makes felt from Merino fibres using wet-felting and needle-felting to make original gifts and decorations.

Lucy Dorothy Nichols

Paper & Textile Artist

Lucy's work is an eclectic mix of paper folding, cutting, sculpture and stitch, with a quest to blur the boundaries between paper and fabric a common theme. For her series of paper dresses, tissue paper is stitched to create delicate daywear, whilst reclaimed papers are pinned, folded and stitched to form elegant eveningwear. In contrast, Lucy's embroidered Jellies pay homage to the wonderfully wobbly Victorian centerpiece. Inspired by classic cookery books, original recipes and engravings have been replaced with mono-prints of mouth-watering jellies and freehand machine embroidered texts.
