Janet Gale

Potter / Watercolour Artist

My stoneware and porcelain pottery is hand thrown, each piece having its own unique character, dishwasher, microwave and food-safe. Glazes are developed using mostly cobalt and copper oxides with rutile, often layering one over the other to make them flow, dipping serveral times in different glazes. I also sculpt and produce figures from life models, these take many hours to make, but gives me great pleasure Although I now concentrate on Ceramics, watercolour was my first love and I still enjoy painting and the unexpected results you can achieve with watercolour.

See the artist's SAOS Member web page for more.
