JoJo Rowley

Ceramicist

Jojo’s response to our busy hectic lives is to create ceramic works that exude a sense of calm and quiet. She hand throws consciously pared back forms and uses simple decoration to achieve this. Where colour is used, it is used singularly on the interior space of the piece and is chosen to contrast with the creamy white exterior. With her recent Agate Ware range she uses soft muted coloured clay additions to create cloud like patterns in the porcelain through which the eye can wander meditatively. The smooth tactile exterior of her pots allows a real, contemplative connection with the piece.

Claudia Stendel

Mixed Media Artist

I work in a variety of mediums including painting and printmaking, allowing chance and coincidence to become a big part in the process. My artistic inspiration comes from nature and everyday objects. Often focussing on the quirky aspects of the ordinary, my aim is to create beautiful works with poetic ambiguity to celebrate life. Colour and texture are vital to me. So is the urge to keep the fluidity and immediacy of free expression - moments in time reworked by the artist. I have a studio in Chertsey and exhibit regularly across Surrey and South London.
