Milland Pottery

Ceramicist

Angela has been making pots at Milland Pottery for over 30 years. Using a red earthenware clay she makes functional ware on the potter's wheel. Decoration is done with brush, sponge, flicking effects using coloured slips. On domestic ware a clear glaze is used over the slip but on some pots the slips are burnished and polished to maintain the matt colouring of the slips. She also runs classes, introducing many people to the joys of throwing a pot as well as helping regulars to progress in skills and techniques.

Robin Quinnell

Card Maker & Portraitist

My work includes drawings, photographs and more recently lino prints of local landscapes, farming scenes, pets and wildlife. I have lived and worked in the area all my life and use the nature and animals around me as inspiration to create a wide range of cards suitable for any occasion. Subjects include butterflies, dragonflies, dogs, farm animals, sunsets, wild and garden flowers, harvest and winter scenes. I print and make all the cards myself using recycled paper and they come with brown kraft envelopes. I also take commissions for pet portraits; usually A4 pencil, charcoal or pastel.
