As of March 2021 I have been shielding for pretty much a whole year, give or take a few weeks freedom. One thing I have realised is how fortunate I am to feel safe in my own home. Today, I drew this in memory of #saraheverard and all women who have felt threatened, either at home or on the streets. Women shouldn’t feel scared in the 21st Century. It is not right.
I have drawn this on an old dictionary page and picked out relevant, meaningful words directly associated with how women can feel on their own. We have all experienced it. We have kept keys in our hand, kept looking behind us. Worrying if someone is following us. It has to stop.
