Evocative semi abstract acrylic of trees and sky at sunset from my Flow series in which I build layers upon layers to build depth and ‘flow’ into the work. Exploring the merging of land and sky, the flow between earth and air.

I am lucky enough to work in my garden studio, and can get stuck in experimenting with a mix of media, but particularly love getting my hands dirty with acrylics. The balance of line, mark and colour are my foundation and I am at my happiest immersed in new projects in the studio, exploring fresh media and techniques. My work takes inspiration from the nature around me, from the beauty of UK gardens, the wild sweep of our countryside, the changing mood of the coast, to the particular fascination of the detail found in a single plant or flower. Vibrant colour and intense mark making inform my work, but above all, I love to express my fascination with the beauty of our world and to create work that shares this gift with others.
