I am primarily a painter, working in oils and I almost exclusively use a palette knife to build up richly textured surfaces. My work centres on capturing the intricacies of character, mood and atmosphere and I take inspiration from a wide range of work, from portraits of past ages, to artists such as Lucian Freud and Gwen John. Aside from my main pursuit of portraiture, I also work with jewellery and various forms of printmaking, taking references from the natural world and historic imagery. My work has been exhibited in the UK, most recently being shown in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, 2020.
