I am a ceramic artist who loves to work to a theme, creating individual and often narrative pieces of work. Ideas are inspired by natural form, landscape and seascape, music and music notation. Much of my work begins its journey in the liquid form of porcelain and bone china clays, known as casting slip. Sculptural elements are handbuilt using clays reinforced with flax or grog. I enjoy building up pattern with drawn elements, mark making and exploring colour. My ceramic studies culminated in Professional Development Diploma Fine Art Ceramics in 2004.
