Darrell Mitchell: A Journey in Art and Restoration: Born in Chertsey, Surrey (1968), Darrell's love of art was nurtured through his father's oil painting conservation and restoration business, where early exposure to a broad repertoire of artists helped shape his diverse style. Training & Conservation (1987-1990): Darrell's early ambition was to become a professional footballer, playing for both Fulham and Chelsea Youth Teams, before back injuries ended that path. In 1987 he joined the oil painting conservation business and gained formal grounding at Strodes Art College, Egham, continuing his training with prominent artists including John Berry, who became an inspiration and role model. Australia （1990m1999): In 1990 Darrell emigrated to Australia, remaining for 10 years and establishing his own Studio Gallery in Brisbane's bohemian quarter, a meeting place for local talent, renowned Australian artists, and collectors. He expanded into gilding, framing, and dealing in art and antiques, predominantly self-taught-saw the studio prosper and grow. Return to England & Ongoing Practice: Returning to England in December 1999, Darrell rejoined the family business and is now a valued partner. He continues to strive for excellence in conservation and in his true passion, painting; his works have been sold at auction, acquired by private collectors, and are held within an international collector base. The global capacity of the business has afforded him the benefit of working with an unsurpassed array of international art covering all periods and styles. Style & Subjects: Darrell's work is insightful and unspoilt by the limitations of any one particular style or period.
