Starting out as a designer in the music industry, followed by years spent in design and advertising promoting clients in the world of media, retail and popular culture, it’s no surprise that I continues to draw inspiration from music, film, TV, literature, current events and social history. Much of my work is thematic, whereby paintings and prints are planned as a series, linked by a common theme. Personal heroes, Film Noir, police mug shots, the American Southwest and family history have provided me with subjects that have found their way onto canvas, wood and paper. Paintings are created in oil, acrylic and watercolour, sometimes combined. Prints include linocuts, screen prints, woodcuts and monotypes. Photographs chronicle my travels, notably road trips taken in the USA.
