Debbie creates expressive abstract and semi abstract artwork using acrylics, inks, oils and cold wax medium. Over many years she has experimented with a variety techniques which enables her to be flexible and select the appropriate medium and tools for expressing a specific vision or idea. Her works on paper include inks, monotype prints and mixed media. Within her range of work she enjoys developing textural layers and exciting marks within her pieces, but also enjoys creating fluid, ethereal images. Her works explores the relationship between nature and the individual. The Surrey Hills are a constant source of inspiration and her work is an expression of an emotional reaction felt in the moment. Debbie often uses materials gathered on her walks in the landscape which she uses in the process of creating an artwork. Recently she has begun exploring ways to incorporate natural inks and earth pigments into her work. Debbie has exhibited locally and in London in group shows, art fairs and galleries. She is a member of ArtCan, Wildwood Artists and several local groups.
