Debbie Tearle

I am a self taught artist and over many years have experimented with a variety of mediums and techniques by attending a wide range of courses. What I have learnt informs my current work enabling me to be flexible and select the appropriate medium and tools for expressing a specific vision or idea. I create semi-representational and expressive abstract artwork using acrylics, inks, oils and cold wax medium. My works on paper include inks, monotype prints and mixed media. I enjoy developing textural layers and exciting marks within my pieces. I explore the relationship between nature and the individual, what is vision and the experience of sight loss. The Surrey Hills are a constant source of inspiration and my work is an expression of the emotions felt in the moment and convey reactions to real and imagined landscapes. I have exhibited locally and am a member of Leatherhead Art Club, Wildwood Artist Group and a member of Alice Sheridan’s Connected Artists’ club.
