Fee creates homeware, lamps, gifts assemblage art and quirky automata by combining free machine embroidery sometimes with repurposed vintage items. Every item is unique and comes with lots of frivolous frippery!
Fee has been a maker all her life. With an Art Foundation, a City & Guilds in Textiles and a BEd, she spent many years as a Primary teacher, specialising in Art & DT.
She started creating free-machine embroidery pictures several years ago when she decided to depict her 50 favourite simple pleasures. The response was so positive that she carried on and now trades under the name Thimble & Thrift. She gets her teaching ‘fix’ running textile workshops and regularly runs stalls selling her work. She is happy to take on commissions for pictures and lamps.
