Ceramics  |  Visit Open Studio

My passion is for various forms of raku (smoke) firing, which include naked raku, crackle glaze raku and horsehair raku. The pieces are wheel thrown with highly burnished slip and terra sigillata surfaces. I also work in stoneware and porcelain and I enjoy experimenting with different glazes and decoration techniques. Ceramics has been my hobby since 2004 and grew into a full time occupation in 2017 when I retired from my engineering career and started work in my own studio. A lot of my decoration design work is done on a computer and applied to the pottery using computer-cut paper and vinyl stencils.
