George Chapman

A Journeyman's Adventures. Having spent my life tied to a desk fretting over numbers, struggling to meet deadlines and trying to get the answers right, I have finally decided to let my creativity run free. In my days of office imprisonment, I dabbled in jewellery making and marquetry, but the eyesight is not up to the fine detail work it once was. Currently I am on journey discovering blacksmithing and green woodwork. I am loving the challenge of learning these traditional skills and seeing what I can create in a natural way. It is great to work outdoors surrounded by nature, after all what greater creative inspiration is there. I have joined the Surrey Artists to share my journey and challenge myself to publicly grow my creativity. I hope you find something in my work that resonates with your spirit.
