Jane Schneider

I’ve been handbuilding ceramics for over 15 years, and I love bringing together my enjoyment of the handbuilding process with my passion for the colourful and slightly offbeat. I’m inspired by cartoons, by pop art and by bold colours, although I can occasionally be persuaded to use more muted tones. My work is mostly decorative, and I work in earthenware in order to get the bright colours I love. More recently, I have turned to throwing, as I feel it’s an important skill in ceramics, and one that I hadn’t really taken the time to master. I’m enjoying improving my throwing skills and producing some more functional work.
