Janina Klein

Painter

A self-taught mixed-media Surrey artist. Generally I work in a mix of watercolour and acrylic inks but not exclusively. Most of my paintings contain elements of brush and pen work but sometimes using a wooden chopstick creating soft edges with a toothbrush. I take inspiration mainly from the trees and landscapes around me, developing these references in my home studio. I also enjoy using metal leaf, alcohol inks and acrylic paint on canvas using gesso and collected objects for texture. I regularly exhibit with Guildford and Woking Art Society, Pirbright Art Club and have exhibited at the Mall Gallery, London with the Royal Society of Artists and the Watts Contemporary Gallery at Compton.
