I grew up as an analogue photographer, capturing images on film. But nowadays my images are digital and taken with whatever camera I have with me at the time. Whichever capture medium I use, my printed output is almost always black and white. I find the absence of colour removes distractions. My photography has always been driven by shape and texture. Digital processing allows these be further emphasised. While many things have been improved by the internet, I am deeply concerned about the impact of online commerce on our towns and cities. Once vibrant spaces are now the domain of nothing but coffee shops and nail bars. The high street is dying.
