Fused glass
Art and nature have been a lifelong passion for me. Living in the Surrey Hills is inspirational. I find I absorb the moods, seasons and colours which reflect in my work.
I have always been creative, even when I didn't have a lot of time.
Being self taught artist I have used many different mediums over my lifetime. I have also spent many years working in adult education with adults with learning disabilities and teaching art, craft and gardening.
I have been working with glass for the past five years and find its transparency and lustre beautiful to work with. You are creating with light. The kiln is also a huge part in the creative process and can sometimes result in unforseen effects!
Textiles are also a medium I enjoy working with, the different textures and colours excite me and I also enjoy putting texture into my glass.
I think your own creativity is a beautiful world uou can get lost in and everyone should try to find theirs. It is essential for happiness and wellbeing.
I was lucky enough to be a runner up in 2019 Surrey artist open studios artist of the year.
