Akin to Shrek and onions, my work is a lot about layers: layers of colour and texture in paint, wax, paper, textiles, clay and glass. A geographical education has inspired in me a love of landscape and the wild beauty of the natural environment. A constantly evolving source of inspiration, the world around us is comprised of layers so vast we can hardly comprehend them down to minute laminations we can observe only microscopically. In my art I try to capture the macro and the micro in the materials I choose and the marks I make.
