Louise Hartley

Louise produces strikingly vibrant and colourful acrylic and mixed media paintings - abstract, semi-abstract and figurative - inspired by her love of nature, myths and magic. In love with all things creative from an early age, she originally studied Sculpture and Graphic Design before going on to explore CGI Art and Fine Art. She bought her first easel and acrylics while living in Paris and has been painting ever since. While her time in the studio is woven alongside her sucessful career in the video games industry, she is happiest with paint brush in hand! Louise is currently studying part-time to further expand her technique and portfolio - discovering old master techniques in oils, abstract and mixed media approaches. She is enjoying finding more of her creative voice and continually developing her process. She is currently fortunate enough to have access to a fantastic studio space surrounded by idyllic farmland by the river Wey. Her first pop-up exhibition was warmly received last summer and she looks forwards to welcoming more people into her studio to view her work and chat about her inspiration and process. Louise has also recently started running mindful mixed media workshops to share the healing experience of making art and the intuitive process with others, and is exploring opportunities to work with special needs as she has encountered some wonderful moments of connection with young people in response to her bright and uplifting paintings.
