Margaret Jones

Margaret's tapestry career began in 2010 when she did a short course at West Dean to learn tapestry weaving. She never looked back and by mid 2015 she had been at West Dean for three years and gained her MFA in visual arts specialising in Tapestry Weaving. Since then she has been busy weaving her own designs, weaving commissions at the professional studio at West Dean and organising 'Heallreaf', an international exhibition of hand woven tapestry. The themes of of loss and destruction are a continual thread throughout Margaret's tapestries and whilst the beauty of the natural world is always inherent in the work there is also that hint of loss, the darkness impending on our world and our lives.
