Sculptor

I have been making and exhibiting work in the UK and abroad since 2008, having graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham. A fascination with the transformation of materials through fire has led me to ceramics. Making pottery is a very grounding process. It requires patience and slowness. My current focus is on nature and the environment and how we connect to nature, particularly through trees. The networks of communication between individual trees through pheromones warning of dangers and underground mycelium enabling the exchange of nutrients. The production of the air we breathe. Their longevity and memory are all fascinating aspects of these earthly companions. Meanwhile, we have forgotten how to be part of nature – living seasonally, acknowledging its constant presence in our lives.
