I am a contemporary painter working predominantly in oil ,and oil and cold wax. I have lived and worked in London for most of my life, but a move to the Surrey Hills has created a shift in my work. I makes use of painterly techniques like sfumato and glazing to create atmospheric abstract, and semi abstract landscapes. Working spontaneously, and intuitively my pictures hover between the real and imagined worlds. Inhabiting that space between remembering and forgetting.
I gained my BA ( Hons) in Fine Art at Central St Martins University 2008, then went on to be part of an artist collective, Collective Studios in Wandsworth.
I am also a nursing sister in the NHS. During the Covid pandemic I took part in the “Portraits for NHS Heroes” initiated by Tom Croft. My work was featured in his book of the same name in aid of the NHS charities Together.
I have also created illustrations for the book “ Nursing Through The Years” Care and Compassion at the Royal London Hospital.
My work is held in public and private collections both here, and abroad.
