Sharon Goodenough

Sharon is a British fine artist whose work explores freedom and a return to self through expressive coastal landscapes. Working primarily in oils, she creates layered seascapes that reflect emotional depth, resilience, and the quiet strength that emerges through life’s changing tides. Hidden words and song lyrics are often written directly onto the canvas before being layered with paint, embedding personal narrative and energy beneath the surface. Largely self-taught, Sharon refined her practice through dedicated study with a seascape artist trained in traditional oil techniques inspired by the Old Masters. Her creative background also includes photography and special-effects makeup for editorial and album cover work. Now painting full-time, Sharon’s work has been exhibited across the UK and internationally, featured in Artist & Illustrator magazine and other publications, and is represented by selected galleries. Her paintings invite viewers into a moment of pause, reflection, and emotional connection.
