Sophie Bartlett

Sophie Bartlett is a recent MA (painting) graduate from the RCA. She is currently working in a temporary studio in Bentley on the Hampshire/Surrey Border. Sophie works across the traditional themes of landscape, figures and still lifes. Her working method usually starts with an intense scrutiny through looking and drawing. Back in the studio these drawings become the basis for usually a series of paintings. Her work has been described as embodied, intuitive, colourful and dynamic. Recent awards include: RCA Vice Chancellors Achievement Award RCA (2024) Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing (2024) Wells Contemporary (2025) and the winner of Salisbury Landscape Open Call (2025). Her work is available from a number of UK galleries, including. Mylo Art, the British Art Portfolio, the Affordable Art Fair, the Wickham Gallery., Nadia Waterfield, Sue Atherton-Green.
