Tania Oko is an artist with a studio in Guildford. She trained in Central Saint Martins Art in London 2006-08. Her recent abstract work blurs the lines between 'hard edge' and fluid paintings. She works mostly with paint and her work is inspired by how light and materials alter images and create new shapes, shadows and reflections and perspectives. She is interested in how viewers interprets what they view based on their own personal experiences. The source inspiration for many of the paintings are through looking at distorted or reflected objects and landscapes. Tania analyses the images or objects into simple binary abstract forms and then build them back using colours and shapes to create something new.
