Zelide Edge

Zelide’s work includes vessels, vases, decorative pieces and functional ware. She explores rhythms through creating and applying repetitive pattern and texture. Her decoration is inspired by all things spikey such as cacti and sea urchins and the forms are inspired by South African 3-legged cooking pots and calabash gourds to name a few. She is also fascinated with the spiral patterns that form throughout the natural world. Works are wheel thrown or slip cast in white stoneware; decorated with coloured slip using the slip trailing method of application or wax resist. All pieces are watertight, food, microwave and dishwasher safe
