Cold Wax Workshop

Learn about the world of oil and cold wax painting in this two-day workshop that’s both fun and educational, blending theory and practice.

After an introduction to cold wax artists and techniques, you’ll roll up your sleeves for hands-on painting sessions. Delve into wet-on-wet work and experiment with various techniques like squeegeeing, scratching, and using a variety of tools to create interesting surfaces.

On Day One get familiar with the basics of cold wax, including layering, opacity, and contrasts, and learn how these elements can create texture and depth.

On Day Two, we take it up a notch with techniques such as using dry pigments, monoprinting, glazing, and solvent reduction.

The workshop is designed to encourage sharing and discussion, with plenty of opportunities to showcase your work.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, this workshop will enrich your understanding of oil and cold wax painting.

This is a two day workshop. You do need to attend both dates as they build on one another.
