You could say Art runs in my family ! my Grandmother was a prolific artist who exhibited at the royal academy, I have childhood memories’ of her house in Yarmouth with the smell of turpentine and linseed oil, my mother’s sister Was known for her pastel work, and had many commissions from Racing horse owners, as for myself I consider myself to be at the beginning of my art journey, I drew and painted from an early age and was accepted at University to study Art. Having taken a gap year my life took a different direction so Art was put on hold. Many years later I made a career as a photographer doing weddings and lifestyle, while doing this I embraced digital photography and started to do creative work which I exhibited and sold some of my work. In 2017 I decided to take up painting again and the rest is history !!.
I like to use a limited colour palette , and use light and form in a simplistic way, when I start a piece I imagine it first, and then go to work, invariably the canvas takes me in a different direction. The seaside series which at the moment is six pieces evokes the simplicity of childhood and “ doing stuff “ at the seaside, I will continue to do more of these in the next year. Also as I regard myself as being a student I will continue to study, refine my technique and develop as an artist.
Here is my work I hope you enjoy it
