I draw my inspiration from the natural world, referring to photographs I take while travelling abroad or visiting local gardens to provide the starting point for my wall hangings and hand embroideries. I use thickened procion dyes printed on to cotton to create the background landscape into which I then hand or machine stitch to provide detailed texture. I use my hand dyed embroidery threads and silk ribbon to complement other materials and techniques that I use in my work such as paper lamination.
