Jo Shepherd - BA Hons degree in Fine Art Painting, Kingston University
I am a painter.
Painting for me is an obsession, a life-long love affair with paint founded on a deep rooted desire to create.
I am primarily interested in portraiture but have also often found inspiration in the woodland landscape around me.
When I'm not in the studio, I work with profoundly disabled people several times a week, providing art sessions as well as occasional life drawing/painting workshops at Watts Gallery Artists village, Compton.
Last year my first portrait of LUDIGO,THE BEST IS YET TO COME was selected for the RA Summer Exhibition and my second portrait LUDIGO'S STORIES was selected for the prestigious Columbia Threadneedle Prize and was shown recently at the Mall Galleries
My exhibition FACE to FACE was filmed and shown on the BBC South Today news.
You can view the film on my facebook page.
