Lesley Dixon

Ceramics

126 SAOS Open Studios 2019 I work in a variety of styles using different techniques and clays.
I am interested in stones and boulders and around that theme are developing stacks of boulder forms, some times abstract and some times functioning as bird baths. I am also developing a series of small pinched ‘flint figures’, which reflect a long time love of prehistoric art. The surfaces are carefully burnished. The figures are fired using a smoke firing or a pit which enhances the unique quality of each piece.
In contrast I hand build plates and cups in the style of blue and white delftware.
