I am interested in the tactile quality of clay, both in making and appreciating ceramics. All my pieces are thrown on the wheel and altered whilst the clay is wet. This varies from making simple indent with a finger on a mug to dramatically ripping a vessel into sections for a wall-mounted piece, which gives fluidity and sensuality to the finished pieces. I specialise in reduction glazes, which give surfaces depth and vibrant colours. My passion for the Far East is visible in the use of celadon and copper red glazes and comes through in the forms I makes.
