Freda James

Textile Artist

I learned my craft at my grandmother's knee and have had a passionate love of textiles ever since. My first loves are paper and yarn of any sort, and I love to use found ephemera to individualise my artwork. I work with old books as well as antique habberdashery. Embroidery is something I have taken up in more recent years, and I love fine needlework.... the delicacy of stitching. My work includes: Embroidered cushions Framed embroidered stories Book sculptures using old books Domed paper sculpture stories Silk paper embroidery framed

Brittany Hazeldine

Painter

I'm a watercolour artist who is inspired by the happiness and creativity of childhood. I paint portraits in playful and delicate watercolour, and believe that a child’s portrait should be full of life, fresh and expressive. Recently I have also begun to experiment with floral and abstract watercolour work, which explore the themes of growth, flourishing, and finding the beauty in imperfection.
