Jillie Capstick

Painter

I make my pictures in a tiny studio set at the bottom of the garden in the picturesque village of Shere. I produce a wide variety of paintings ranging in subject matter from wild flowers through to still lifes, landscapes and nudes. My first sale was a still life of a jar of flowers to the fashion house Max Mara and it formed the basis of a series of silk prints and designs for the Weekend Autumn/Winter Collection 2018/19. I usually use my own photographs as a starting point for a new piece of work.

Lynn Bond

Painter

Lynn is a painter who takes inspiration from the natural world, landscapes and texture of everyday surroundings. 'I love to use layers in my paintings, including textures with mixed media, colour washes, that convey the ever changing elements. My work is expressionist and abstract, created with energy and freedom.'

Lizzie Crawford

Artist, Painter

Having been a fashion designer in the 80s Liz has found a new way to explore her creativity through art using a variety of mediums to explore colour, landscape and nature. She is currently exploring the use of acrylic paint as a pouring medium to give organic images relating to the sea or surrounding countryside. She works from her spacious studio set in her beautiful woodland garden.

Kaz Jones Caroline Jones

Painter / Printmaker

I specialise in acrylics and am currently focusing on what I call my series of “dramatic fruit ‘n’ veg” still life paintings – the very dramatic chiaroscuro shadows imbuing seemingly ordinary foodstuffs with mystery and glamour. This is a contemporary take on traditional Dutch still life but instead of ‘cluttering’ the canvas with many items, I’ve chosen to just focus on one, thereby changing the value of a banal object and elevating its beauty. I also enjoy printmaking specifically linoprinting and wood engraving as I enjoy the precision and control needed to create beautiful images.

Pamela Chipperton

Ceramicist

My ceramics are stoneware or white earthenware, hand-built or thrown one off pots or vessels. I am inspired by the changes in the seas and skies along the South Coast and Cornwall. This is reflected in the blues and metallic glazes I use in my work. I love the spontaneity of surface decoration, creating designs made using slips, glazes and oxides. Some with added mixed media. This is very much an ongoing journey, learning and experimenting along the way.
