Rosalind Moysen

Painter

Trained at Kingston School of Art and the Royal College of Art, her work - influenced by her interior design training, combined with a love of strong colour - has resulted in vibrantly coloured watercolours with wax, pastel, torn paper salt, PVA glue and gum arabic. Texture is the main focus of her more recent work - inspired by woods and ponds near her home - using oil and a palette knife to obtain a semi-abstract depiction of the layers and texture of woodland. Using a similar technique, her latest work uses torn fragments of textured, painted paper to portray woodland and landscape.

Keira Graham

Textile Artist

After studying textile design at Nottingham Trent University I have always been fascinated by the manipulation of fabric. Following many years of exploring different techniques of distressing and experimenting with fabrics I have developed a style of artwork that reflects the richness and delicate nature of the most luxurious of fabrics, silk. Each piece of work is utterly unique and what may initially appear as a landscape or tempestuous seascape from a distance takes on an entirely different visual experience when seen close up.

Roger Marsden

Woodturner

Roger Marsden produces adventurous woodturned artistic and practical pieces such as large pepper grinders, lidded pots, candle holders, pot pouri, artistic bowls and platters of all sizes and shapes. He works primarily with English hardwoods, mostly from the local area, and particularly enjoys working with unusually shaped pieces or highly featured grains including spalted woods.

Beryl Hole

Ceramicist

The majority of my work is thrown, reduction fired stoneware. I am currently developing vase and bowl forms contrasting rough textures with smooth surfaces. I enjoy the process of firing, which is why I like working with open flame in both the gas reduction firing for my main work and experimenting with fuming and Raku firing. The main influences on my work are from the natural world – the textures of tree bark, the smooth surfaces of stones, the rythm of moving water and the stillness and tension of a seed pod. All these elements I try to bring together in my work.

Janet Stanley

Sculptor

I work in clay using a mixture of modelling and found materials and textures. My inspiration comes from nature, the human form and Classical and Celtic art. Much of my larger work is designed to be seen in an outdoor setting,a continuation of the natural environment and to be discovered within it. My completed work is usually cast in Bronze Resin. My interest in textures and layers is leading me to develop work using a range of mixed media for both two dimensional and three dimensional work. Commissions are welcome.

Dawn Thornhill

Papercut Lightboxes

I have always been fascinated by the simplicity and endless potential of paper. Hand-cutting pages, layering and lighting to create three-dimensional structures that capture the beauty of the natural world is my passion. Watching a piece evolve from sketch to design, adapting as I cut, and seeing the delicacy of the shadows creating contrast on the layers, will always be magical to me.
