Sophie De Taranto

Jeweller

I started designing and making jewellery under the name Shutter Jewellery in 2015. I am a keen photographer and wanted to create wearable pieces with my images. I shoot looking for strong pattern and shape which will have impact on a tiny scale. The majority of my work is inspired by the natural world, particularly birds! I am always experimenting with different techniques to create new jewellery pieces and currently work with sterling silver, silver clay and acetate. All work is made from my riverside studio in Walton on Thames, and the location is a constant source of inspiration.

See the artist's SAOS Member web page for more.

Sophie De Taranto welcomes visitors all year round by appointment.
