Monica Bowen

Painter

Monica Bowen trained in Fine Art and Illustration at Hornsey College of Art then worked as an Exhibition stand designer. Later,on joining Guildford Art Society her old enthusiasm has been rekindled. She likes to work in different media suitable for the subject. Further experience includes a Pastel portrait of Mayor Angela Gunning in the Guildhall and street scenes in Oils. She has also recently enjoyed drawing Dance classes in progress at Surrey University.

Elizabeth loves painting most subjects - animals, land and seascapes, beach scenes, still life, etc - using a variety of different media. She tries to capture the life and colour of Nature in either a literal or more imaginative way. Her work has been exhibited by the Society of Wildlife Artists and Women Artists and in several galleries around the UK - including a solo exhibition in Pimlico, London - and is in private collections in the USA and Singapore. She is a member of the Society of Equestrian Artists.
