Julia Tester Bju Ed. BA

Painter / Printmaker

Julia began to study art when she retired from full time teaching. She worked with William and Roger Adams, then had a great foundation year at East Surrey College and went on to gain an honours degree at London Metropolitan Uiversity. Her specialism there was etching and printing, and she has a press in her current studio to continue that practice. She also works at drawing with pastels, acrylics, and pen and ink. She likes to think of her subjects as a rich mix representing her interests. Recently there have been animal eyes, buildings, landscapes, and probably favourite, dancers.

Marion Baker BA Hons

Painter

"Anticipation" is the first in a series of abstract paintings. While not influenced by any particular subjects, it may be seen as suggesting the power, tension and thrust of natural organisms.

Tony Tester

Sculptor

Born in London, married, with two children and two grandchildren. Began sculpting six years ago when well into retirement. Starting with clay and plaster over metal armatures, and some moulding, he assembled a small congregation of dancers and others on shelves. Visitors sometimes complain they invade their dreams. He moved to working in Indian soapstone and now limestone. His favoured subject is the human body.
