Peter Quarmby

Windsor Chair Maker

I make Windsor Chairs, including double-bow chairs, rocking chairs, fanback dining chairs, and a child's version of the double-bow chairs. I use local timber wherever possible, usually a combination of cherry and walnut or elm, or ash. The chairs are of a simple, attractive design which is comfortable to sit in due to their shape, in particular the back of the chair. The shaping and smoothness of the seat and arms in particular add to the chairs’ comfort and appeal, The chairs may be used as occasional chairs or for dining, and would make an attractive addition to any home.

See the artist's SAOS Member web page for more.

Peter Quarmby welcomes visitors all year round by appointment.
