Suzanne Winn

Painter

My current work often focuses on rural landscapes immediately local to my home. I aim to tap into the energy of the landscape, which for me brings a sense of movement and freedom, and a feeling of connection. I seek to convey something of how it feels to be within the landscape, and my emotional responses to experiencing nature in this way. I often draw outside using charcoals and/or pastels. Back in the studio I paint in oils from my sketches and memory. I often apply the oils thickly, working quickly, instinctively and intuitively, aiming to capture the energy and feeling of the moment.

Fiona Pearce

Painter

Working mainly in acrylic, I apply thick layers with credit cards, fingers and occasionally a brush from my studio in Upper Farringdon.  My work is inspired by the beautiful local countryside where I walk daily with my dog, but my love of colours and use of space on the canvas is what excites me the most about painting. My goal is to make my paintings come alive, using colours that bring my energy on to the canvas. I see the world in a geometric format, breaking down images into shapes before translating that on to canvas.

Catherine Warren

Painter

Catherine takes inspiration from landscapes and nature, from close to her home in Farnham to the Dorset and Cornwall coast and beyond. She is particularly drawn to colour, light and contrast and tries to produce paintings with energy, freedom and movement. She strives to capture something of the essence of a ‘moment in time’, the atmosphere and experience of a certain place. Catherine works mainly in acrylics, incorporating mixed media such as chalk, oil pastels and charcoal. She was delighted to win the Surrey Artist of the Year 2018
