Hilary Charlesworth

Weaver

My woven rugs show my passion for colour and colour blending. I use floor quality yarns but my rugs can also be used as wall hangings. I am also a tapestry weaver and member of the British Tapestry Group. I am an adult education teacher and run workshops in woven tapestry, felt making, braid making and locker hooking. Details of my work and teaching can be seen on my website.

See the artist's SAOS Member web page for more.

Gaila Clarke Hall

Ceramicist

I hand-build pots in various clays pinching out the smaller ones in my hands and building up the rougher more sculptural pieces from a table. The marks that occur in making them intrigue me and I keep some of them on their surfaces. Sometimes I leave the clay bare and sometimes I use oxides and slips as colour. I also make large glazed bowls.
