Jane Silk

Ceramicist

My bird forms reflect my ongoing love of birds, their forms, features and movement - their very ‘birdness’. Quirky, often humorous, the essence of their character and behaviour is my priority. I often make them in pairs, enabling conversations. The natural world is the root of my inspiration, and is currently especially derived from the coast - rocks, cliffs, pebbles - the power of the elements, erosion and decay through time. I am interested in rugged, textural surface effects and natural edges, using a combination of layered slips, oxides and glazes.

Slavica Struthers-Kennedy

Jeweller

Designer and maker of elegant and unique jewellery. I work in sterling silver, semi-precious stones and anodised aluminium. Each piece of jewellery is a one off, unique, designed and made by me. Shape, texture and colour are important to me and this is reflected in my work. My inspiration comes from nature, architecture and all things which surround me. I love jewellery, but the biggest compliment to me is when I see someone else wearing my creation. Commissions are welcome.

Chris Silk

Street Photographer

Street photography. My photographs are unposed and candid, taking advantage of features or moments happening around me at any time on the street. Sometimes I can anticipate and capture a particular image, and other times work on the spur of the moment to take an unplanned photograph - often in unexpected places. I am particularly interested in emphasising the interaction of people with architecture, and using photography to extract surreal elements from the mundane.
