Fiona Pearce

Fiona works from her studio, The Hen House in Upper Farringdon and for Open Studios she is part of The Farringdon Artists Trail.

Working mainly in acrylic, she applies thick layers with a brush, fingers and occasionally a credit card.  Her work is inspired by the beautiful local countryside and locally grown flowers, but her love of colours and the use of space on the canvas is what excites her the most about her designs.

Seeing the world as a series of shapes, Fiona initially sketches out her pieces on an iPad before translating them on to canvas. Focusing on the composition and palette, she plays with the image as not to make it too literal but still recognisable.

Her goal is to make her paintings come alive using colours that bring her energy on to the canvas.

Her most recent collection focuses on flowers, but her previous pieces which are predominantly local landscapes are still covering the walls in the studio.
