Hilary Peat

This is the first year that I have taken part in Surrey Artists’ Open Studios. I am very much looking forward to welcoming you to my garden studio where you will find on display a collection of my ceramics along with some paintings. Constant colour changes brought about by the seasons and the elements are an important part of my work. The paintings are an emotional response to the places I have visited over the years and my hand- built ceramic pieces, which are linked to the paintings, are made up of multiple layers of colour, lending them a degree of complexity and richness.
