Jill Iliffe

The open studio will include oil paintings of people, landscapes, animals, birds and still life.  Also watercolours and drawings.  There will be handmade fused glass items for use and display, as well as handcrafted wooden items.

Jill is a professional artist based in the centre of Headley Village, just over the Surrey border in Hampshire.  She studied at the University of the Arts London, gaining her BA and then MA in 2009.  Her work is held in many private collections and a museum, and Jill exhibits widely in both commercial and public galleries.  In 2020 Jill took part in Sky Portrait Artist of the Year.  She is an elected member of the the Society of Graphic Fine Arts.

Her work is highly skilled and completed in professional and traditional ways, however it has a contemporary quality due to her ideas of not overloading the image with too much information.  Her concept is that she starts the story and the viewer finishes it, ensuring a true collaboration between artist and viewer.  Just as every artist should be different, then every viewer brings themselves to the picture too.
