The paintings on display are purely abstract and have no intentional moral, idealogical or political meaning although inevitably all art reflects the time in which it is made. The artist’s anxieties, observations, thoughts and fears are embedded within the work. The paintings are composed of divisions and layers of contrasting tones, textures and colours informed by studies, photographs and drawings made out in the landscape and built environment. A selection of drawings and sketches will also be on display as well as work still in progress.
