Lower Kings Studio
Lower Kings Studio is Jane’s working Pottery studio, a beautiful, peaceful place, overlooking the garden, which doubles up as a shared display space during Open Studios to include the work of other artists.
Jane – My ceramics is mostly sculptural, much of it developed from my ongoing love of birds, emphasising through exaggeration their behaviour, characters and personalities, aiming to capture their very essence. In addition to this I love to walk, and much of my work is especially inspired by the coast and surrounding landscape – our beautiful natural world provides endless inspiration.
Slavica – A designer and maker of unusual, unique jewellery, I work in Sterling Silver, semiprecious stones and anodised aluminium. I make one off pieces, elegant and very wearable, and like to experiment with different techniques and materials. My work reflects my strong interest in design, colour and texture, inspired by my love of nature, architecture, travel and walking. A piece of my jewellery stands out and gets noticed.
Chris – My photographs are candid and un-posed, taken on the spur of the moment and using whatever surroundings were available to me at the time. I am particularly drawn to urban environments, and the opportunity to use photography to change a seemingly mundane moment into something more surreal or humorous.
