My work is grounded in close observation from life using classical techniques to capture form, volume and space. Light can reveal forms. Painting how light gives ordinary objects immediate presence is thrilling.

At the Angel Academy in Florence I was directed, coaxed and guided to learn how to start step by step. I practiced creating figures and still lives into drawing and paintings with lifelike form.

You can become immersed in the stories in front of you.

I draw and paint from life and often use photographs to give me those details, shapes, colours that, when working from life, become illusive and so very changeable. In wanting to create a moment I must use reference of that moment.

Why? As I paint, I see. This is my great love – to see revealed what makes up what I look at.

Visiting information
Please park in the village car park. Then walk, just a few minutes, following the signs. There is a gravel track leading to my studio/home and a small step up and we can help anyone who needs assistance. to navigate this. With pleasure, it's not too difficult.

Place to eat
Our local shop sells lovely sandwiches, hot and cold drinks and all sorts of delicious items. Our local pub 'The Sun' is very welcoming and serves food that is delicious and varied from sandwiches to meals, children's meals are included.
